This course provides employees of public bodies in BC with an introduction to fairness in the public sector. It provides an overview of administrative fairness and teaches participants how to recognize and apply the key elements of fairness in their everyday role.

Course Info

This introductory eLearning course walks learners through a series of interactive scenarios mirroring real-life examples of how to recognize and apply administrative fairness in their everyday work. It explores why administrative fairness matters in the delivery of public services and challenges learners to consider how the decisions they make directly impact members of the public. It also provides tips on how to respond effectively to complaints to help prevent them from escalating.

After completing the course, learners will be able to:

  • describe and apply key principles of administrative fairness
  • make and communicate decisions fairly in different public service contexts
  • identify and demonstrate some key components to good public service delivery

This introductory course is open to all public sector employees and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
